Look over there to the right. No.. your other right. On the right hand side of this screen you should see the 2004 Food Blog Award Ballot. It should allow you to vote for your favorite food blogs. So, as of now, voting has started.
Your votes will be tabulated and then held in a secret location somewhere deep in the bowels of Mt. Rainier. Voting will be closed at midnight, Dec 31st, PST.
If you have any difficulties in voting, or have any general questions, please contact me at Kate AT accidentalhedonist DOT com or leave a comment below.
And many, many thanks to Tara, who did all of the coding to get the poll software up and running. It was my idea, but Tara was the one who made this a reality.
The results have been tabulated. Decisions have been made. And we have a list of nominees for the of hopefully many Food Blog Awards.
The response for the Call for Nominations has been more than I could have wished. Over 700 comments gave over 800 nominations. In all honesty, had we recieved half these numbers, I would have considered this a success. What this tells me is that we love our food, and we love our sites.
Below the cut is the final list of the 2004 Food Blog Award Nominations. Voting for these nominees will take place in the next few days when a voting poll will be posted. The voting will go from when the post is made, until midnight Dec 31st, 2004. Winners will be announced no later than Jan 8th, 2005.
A little about how the list of nominations were determined: The plan called for five nominees in each of the sixteen categories, pulled from the sites nominated most often in the comments. In case of a tie, it was my own choice that broke any tie. My decisions were based off of the following criteria (in no particular order):
Will this please everyone? Probably not, but it was the best I could do given the constraints I had imposed upon this process. If anyone wishes to dispute my choices, feel free to e-mail me at Kate AT accidentalhedonist DOT com.
And, as always, if you want to sponsor a prize or two, feel free to contact me and I'll set it up.
And now, what you all have been waiting to read...
