Yes, Barrett, I think Tigers & Strawberries qualifies--I started writing in late January of 2005. (Thanks for the nomination.)

In for a penny in for a pound!

Is there anything to say we can't enter two categories?

I thought if I nominated our own new blog - http://blogauvin.finewinepress.com with its associated podcast - People in Wine. Why? Because it is open to all good writers on wine and we have some: Hervé Bizeul describing the trials and tribulations of being a wine-maker, with a bit of philosophising on the side, recently Brian Croser, John Kapon's wild tastings and a few infrequent guests including myself when I have the time. Our associated podcast People in Wine is, I hope, something new with guests who include Rex Pickett, Carole Bouquet, Ron Jackson, Rod Phillips, Michel Bettane, Remi Krug, Rob McNeil, Natalie Fryar, Michael Broadbent, Armin Diel and many more. Our latest is a 'Special' for the time of year.

But in case we are disqualified for putting a tick against our own name - then Tom's Fermentations has an energy which marks it apart and Alder's Vinography because he is always awake! And, OK, because I enjoy their candour and... their ardour.

Good luck to all!
Fabian

I nominate The Wine Offensive at http://www.wineoffensive.com/blog. She's one of the few wine/food blogs that talk like a real insider, not just a gushing novice. It's like listening to your favorite bartender tell you a different story every day, cluing you into foods, wines, all sorts of stuff. Just what's needed in a way too PG-13 business.

I hope & wish, her efforts bear the desired fruit!

I join the bandwagon for The Kitchen at ApartmentTherapy.com:

http://kitchen.apartmenttherapy.com

This fresh-out-of-the-oven blog is the culinary extension of the highly addictive design blog. All-encompassing, presented with wit and responsibility by the LOVELY Sara Kate, The Kitchen celebrates all the best of what a bountiful table is really all about. A valuable resource to the urban gourmand, and will turn even the casual visitor into a hardcore foodie in three shakes of a whisk.

Man, this girl sure don't need to Joy of Cooking. She just wings it and the result is always perfect. Plus the improvisation makes her stuff unique. I mean, Bourban pumpkin cheesecake? Rosemary cookies? Who comes up with this stuff? The cook behind Combustication, that's who. Plus, the pictures make my tummy rumble with happiness. Be sure to click on the "foodporn" button for all her recipies. Best food blog on the web. Period. www.combustication.net
