In for a penny in for a pound!

Is there anything to say we can't enter two categories?

I thought if I nominated our own new blog - http://blogauvin.finewinepress.com with its associated podcast - People in Wine. Why? Because it is open to all good writers on wine and we have some: Hervé Bizeul describing the trials and tribulations of being a wine-maker, with a bit of philosophising on the side, recently Brian Croser, John Kapon's wild tastings and a few infrequent guests including myself when I have the time. Our associated podcast People in Wine is, I hope, something new with guests who include Rex Pickett, Carole Bouquet, Ron Jackson, Rod Phillips, Michel Bettane, Remi Krug, Rob McNeil, Natalie Fryar, Michael Broadbent, Armin Diel and many more. Our latest is a 'Special' for the time of year.

But in case we are disqualified for putting a tick against our own name - then Tom's Fermentations has an energy which marks it apart and Alder's Vinography because he is always awake! And, OK, because I enjoy their candour and... their ardour.

Good luck to all!
Fabian

I nominate The Wine Offensive at http://www.wineoffensive.com/blog. She's one of the few wine/food blogs that talk like a real insider, not just a gushing novice. It's like listening to your favorite bartender tell you a different story every day, cluing you into foods, wines, all sorts of stuff. Just what's needed in a way too PG-13 business.

My reason:

What constitutes "new"? I nominate mollysmadeleine.blogspot.com even though I also nominated it as best writing along with the seasoned "pros". Her writing compares with established authors out in the real world and certainly with food bloggers with much longer history in the cyberworld.

Nevertheless, I don't think she's been at this so long that she's developed a following. YET. But she WILL. She's brilliant.

I hereby nominate Esther of www.foodmall.org for the BEST NEW FOOD BLOG category.

Why? Because, earlier she was not there, whereas now she is all over!

Yes, ever since the launch of her blog - FoodMall, she has successfully outdid a number of other blogs - both in terms of quality of content as well as number of posts.

I hope & wish, her efforts bear the desired fruit!

I join the bandwagon for The Kitchen at ApartmentTherapy.com:

http://kitchen.apartmenttherapy.com

This fresh-out-of-the-oven blog is the culinary extension of the highly addictive design blog. All-encompassing, presented with wit and responsibility by the LOVELY Sara Kate, The Kitchen celebrates all the best of what a bountiful table is really all about. A valuable resource to the urban gourmand, and will turn even the casual visitor into a hardcore foodie in three shakes of a whisk.

I used to think this site was one of the best-kept secrets of the Westside, but it keeps growing in popularity. It's a great resource for figuring out where to take a date or have a party or get-together for friends, or just to find a good place when you're craving a certain kind of cuisine. It'll tell you not just about the quality of the food, but also the price, the ambiance/atmosphere, the service, and all the other little details that are important when considering where to eat.

I've been clicking around some of the different nominations and was very impressed with In Praise of Sardines.

I counted the months in his archive and he's been active for seven, he might not qualify for new.

this is a fantastic new blog. it is focused on San Francisco, but is so well written and well focused on the high end scene here that it merits a look for best new blog.

almost forgot this one - despite being mentioned on her blog - there is some good thought-provoking writing - recycling for example.

I nominate: www.2tastyladies.com

I was checking their previous nomination comments and a lot of people hit the spot. So, I won't say much here, except that the newspaper funnies and this site are the first things I go through before I get sucked into my hurried humdrum day.

keep at it, O ladies who are tasty.

Interesting and witty! I tried the other blogs but they were poor and horrible. The Kitchnette seemed to be the most knowledgeable. You own.

http://easilypleased.blogspot.com/ is a joke.
