Best Overall Food Blog
Chocolate & Zucchini

There are so many people to thank who helped put this together. I would like to thank the sponsors, who helped ensure that prizes would be available to a fair majority of the categories. I would also like to thank Tara, who put this together last minute (because of my own poor planning).

I would like to also thank the writers of all food blogs. I know it sounds odd, but we are all getting noticed by the food writing community. This past week alone, I've done interviews for two mainstream newspapers surrounding food blogs.

Finally, I would like to thank all the readers out there who had strong enough opinions of the food blogs to not only nominate their favorites sites, but also vote for them. We had well over 7000 individual votes across the 16 categories. This speaks much of how much food blogs are enjoyed.

Here's to a wonderful 2004 in the food blog community, and to a stronger 2005!

Chocolate and Zucchini is a classy and sophisticated site, but Chez Pim can be a bit preachy and ignorant at times.

On January 13, Pim wrote: "If I hadn't been born with a flat Asian nose I would have looked perfect in blonde."

I'm wondering: is this why she hides her nose behind that coffee cup? Just how big is that nose? Does anyone know? And by the way, plenty of Asians have tall, thin noses; she shouldn't generalize her condition to the rest of the Asian race.

And you're not preachy at all, are you Greyhawk? Nope. Not one hypocritical bit.

Well, Tara, since I happen to be Asian, AND I don't have a flat nose, I'm entitled to take offense at her comment. After all, why do all the ugly Asians get to hog all the attention by claiming that their flat, round noses are the norm?? Besides, I'm more disgusted with Pim's indecision over leading a life of self-congratulating over indulgence versus a life filled with feckless heart-wrenching anguish over all the ills that plague the world.

Be as offended as you like. My last name is ethnic Chinese, I have a big nose, and I still consider what you're doing to be preaching. In a congratulatory column, no less. Stop it. If your sense of self is so degraded by Pim's comments then have the courage to write her directly and address the matter. She likely has too much class to respond to your jeers in what was meant to be a kind-spirited posting.

If you continue to bad-mouth anyone in the comments of this post, size of your nose notwithstanding, then your comments will be moved (I'm too much a fan of free speech to delete them).
